Research Interest

I am interested in machine learning problems and their applications in computer vision and image processing. In the last two years, my research has been focused on training hash functions and learning binary codes which are useful in fast image retrieval. The most interesting and challenging part of my research is in solving discrete and continuous optimization problems which arise in minimizing the objective function. I am also interested in other machine learning problems like dimensionality reduction and clustering. You can find my CV over [here].

I am a PhD student in the EECS Department of UC Merced, working under supervision of Professor Miguel Carreira-Perpinan . I received my BS in Computer Engineering in 2010 from Iran University of Science and Technology and MS in Artificial Intelligence in 2012 form Sharif Univeristy of Technology, Iran. Since 2013, I have been working towards my PhD degree in machine learning. My research focuses on optimization using algorithms based on auxiliary coordinates and its applications in binary hashing. You can find my CV over [cv].
